Waukesha Magnetic Bearings Achieves ISO 45001:2018 Certification

New Certification Promotes Safe and Healthy Work Environment

Waukesha Magnetic Bearings, a leader in custom-engineered magnetic bearing systems for turbomachinery and high-performing rotating equipment, is proud to announce achieving ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management Systems Certification. Waukesha Magnetic Bearings is now certified in three different ISO standards, including ISO 9001:2015 Quality, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental and now ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety.

ISO 45001:2018 is the world’s first international standard focused on health and safety with a goal of ensuring companies have a safe and healthy workplace for all employees and visitors. This new standard is used to establish an effective OH&S management system for preventing work-related injury and illness, as well as proactively improve health and safety performance.

“Achieving ISO 45001:2018 certification showcases our serious commitment to our employees and customers by continuously evaluating and improving our safety procedures to ensure we meet the highest standards in the world,” stated Kristy Benedatti, UK Health and Safety Manger. Waukesha Magnetic Bearings began internal preparation for certification in 2019 through evaluation of existing procedures and development of new procedures to align with ISO
45001:2018 standards. These procedures were added to their Integrated System Manual, which already included policies and procedures aligned to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards. “By including ISO 45001:2018 standards within our Integrated System Manual, we ensured consistency of our policies and procedures across three major aspects of our organization: quality, the environment and now safety.” Benadatti said.

ISO 45001:2018 certification for Waukesha Magnetic Bearings was issued on November 12, 2021 by NQA, a leading global provider of accredited certification, training and support services.
