Vaughan Company has announced a partnership with AJAC (Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee) and the Elma School District for an Automation Technician Youth Apprenticeship Program. Upon completion of the course, the apprentice will become a journey-level Automated Maintenance Technician. Students entering the apprenticeship program are high school juniors and seniors who have been selected by their Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers and administrators to participate.
These students will gain valuable skills in advanced manufacturing that will lead them to a successful post-high school career. In addition to career skills, students will also be earning both high school and college credit while in the program. Vaughan Company, Sierra Pacific, and A&R Aviation Services are proud to support the Elma School District and AJAC as the first three employers to sign on to this program.
Signing day took place at Elma High School on May 19th at 5:30 pm. The Elma High School Commons was full of family, school staff, and community supporters. Vaughan Company was excited to have Logan Zimmerman join as their first apprentice in this program and gave special thanks to the Elma School District and AJAC for the opportunity to participate as one of the first employers to sign on to the Automation Technician Youth Apprenticeship Program in Grays Harbor County.
