Second World of Pumps Quiz

ITT Goulds Pumps today announced its second annual online quiz, which, along with basic questions, will have an entirely new set of expert challenge questions for industry professionals who want to test their knowledge about pumps and fluid-process technologies. The World of Pumps Quiz begins today and runs for 20 weeks, ending midnight March 31, 2013.

Spotlighting pumps as the “heart of industry,” ITT Gould Pumps has structured the program to benefit the global Emergency Cardiovascular Care Program, which is sponsored by the American Heart Association and its global partners, and teaches first aid and CPR around the world. Pump Appreciation Day will follow the quiz on April 9, 2013.

“We had incredible participation last year, with more than 10,800 industry professionals from 153 countries weighing in,” said Robert J. Pagano Jr., president of the ITT Industrial Process business, which includes ITT Goulds Pumps. “This year, we’ve decided to challenge our enthusiastic participants still further, with a separate set of expert challenge questions.”

Over the 20 weeks of the World of Pumps Quiz, participants can answer up to 10 basic questions — a new one every two weeks. After answering a basic question, industry professionals can try to answer an expert challenge question. Question topics range from early pump designs to pump applications to smart pumping technologies.

“Industry professionals can have fun taking the quiz and feel good in knowing that this pump education initiative will help save lives as well. Hearts are pumps too, and we are proud to align ourselves with the cause of promoting worldwide heart health,” Pagano said.

To enter the quiz, participants can go to www.worldofpumpsquiz.com. Once they answer the first basic question correctly, quiz-takers can sign up to receive automatic notification when the next basic question is posted. Over the course of the quiz, participants can answer as many or as few questions as they like.

ITT Goulds Pumps is promoting the World of Pumps Quiz through LinkedIn ads and e-blasts that trade publications will send to their subscribers.
