Register Today for the AWWA/WEF Utility Management Conference: On the Road to the Utilities of the Future

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA), in cooperation with the California Water Environment Association, will jointly host the 2016 Utility Management Conference: On the Road to the Utilities of the Future. Scheduled for Feb. 24-27, 2016 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, this year’s event will be co-located with the National Association of Clean Water Agency’s (NACWA) 2016 Winter Conference, to be held Feb. 21-24 at the Westin San Diego.

WEF and AWWA joined forces more than twenty-five years ago to collaborate as hosts of a joint management conference that addresses the mutually important topic of successful utility management in a changing society. Utility managers and consulting staff are increasingly challenged to do more with less, strive for best management practices, and find innovative solutions for ever-evolving water quality issues.

An important step in best addressing these issues is a sector-wide movement toward Utilities of the Future (UOTF)—transforming traditional treatment into full resource recovery that includes sustainable, cost-effective options that capture valuable and reusable products for society.

Built around the UOTF theme, Utility Management 2016 features an expanded technical program of seven workshops and 36 concurrent sessions designed to provide the latest tools, techniques, best practices, and emerging solutions needed for effective utility management. Topics include: utility benchmarking, sustainability initiatives, workforce development, efficiency and risk management, innovation, resiliency, and more.

Professionals encouraged to attend include: engineers, scientists, consultants, academics, treatment plant operators, regulators, graduate students, implementing organizations, non-governmental organizations, governmental agencies, researchers, manufacturers and their representative groups, and both North American and international industrial communities.
