I’ve got friends… NOW WHAT?

I’ve got friends… NOW WHAT?

This week I was asked,”OK… I have got all these friends NOW what to I do with them?”

My first thought was … communicate with them.  What would you say to your customer if they were sitting right in front of you?   Say that… But, then I suddenly realized that being in the media (and wanting everyone to know everything I’m doing) is different than most organizations.  For example, a supplier producing a revolutionary product may not want to tell the world about their new products or target markets.  They have to keep in mind that their competitors may or may not be watching for their next move.

I am not a person to fear competition.  I would also say I am not focused on what my competition is doing but more on what I can do for my customers.   I believe this should be the focus for suppliers, however, I also agree with launching product at the right time for the best exposure and sales result.

With EmpoweringPumps.com I am constantly trying to create more value for my current customers at the same time as drawing in new business.  These channels are very different but I wouldn’t hesitate to inform others of my ability to meet their needs and expectations for fear that my competitor will jump right in before I get there…

My husband once said, “while you are worrying if your main competitor is watching to copy your next product, there could be a new company producing something even better.”

So… don’t wait… get involved… Build Relationships that allow you to dialog with you customers.

If you are still concerned that the whole world doesn’t need to see your information, make a customer only forum.  The tools of Social Media have established a great opportunity to build networks of like minds that enjoy communicating or just learning about business.

So, you have followers… you have joined groups…. Now I say, “Communicate With Them!”

Happy Posting, Charli
