Series Meets Growing Industry and OEM Demand for Efficient Top Mount Pumping Applications

Global water technology company Xylem Inc., has launched the “Series e-SVI” immersible multistage pump line in North America to meet growing demand from the industrial, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), and commercial building markets.

The e-SVI is an energy-saving, vertical multistage pump with an immersible hydraulic end that provides an ideal solution for top mount applications. Coupled models are equipped with standard National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) premium efficient motors and are offered in cast iron and stainless-steel versions. Close-coupled models are available in sizes 1, 3, and 5 and have a cast iron shaft.

With flows up to 625 GPM (144 m3/h), sizes from 1 to 92, and high-efficiency variable speed drive options, the e-SVI meets the demands of a variety of applications. These include cooling and tool lubrication circuits, process temperature control, industrial washing systems, and commercial washing machines. The flexible and immersible e-SVI series covers a wide range of duty points and suction depths. The series is an interchangeable drop-in replacement for .75”, 1.25”, and 2” National Pipe Thread (NPT) and 2.5” and 3” flange discharge connections.

“As customers’ pumping needs evolve, the introduction of our Series e-SVI product line provides them with a complete range of products for diverse applications. These solutions combine 170 years of application expertise with the latest in pumping technology to meet our customers’ broad sustainability, efficiency, serviceability, and top mount application requirements,” Gretchen Valentino, Americas Product Line Manager, Multistage, said.

Built in Auburn, New York, the e-SVI series is a powerful addition to the existing e-SV multistage pump family. The e-SVI pump features laser-welded impellers that reduce friction and optimize pump efficiency. Sizes 1-92 feature an inducer as part of the standard offering which helps protect against dry run and supports reliable low-level pumping. The e-SVI can be paired with the Hydrovar® drive and also includes the e-SVIE, which has a Xylem Smart Motor to optimize pump performance through variable speed.

The e-SVIE features an ultra-premium IE5 permanent magnet motor, providing efficiency well above a standard IE3 NEMA synchronous motor. The e-SVIE includes a wide range of ‘plug and play’ monitoring, control, and safety features. It can operate single or multi-pump systems of up to three pumps, with no need for an external control panel or PLC. It also exceeds the hydraulic performance of fixed-speed versions in a more compact design.

Designed for easy retrofit and maintenance, the pump’s standard seal can be replaced without removing the motor. The reduced axial thrust makes it possible to use motors with standard bearings.
