Partners with 120 other organizations during Engineers Week
The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) is promoting engineering careers in the mining industry during the 2016 SME Annual Conference & Expo in Phoenix, AZ. During the Wednesday, Feb. 24 Annual Awards Dinner, 2015 SME President J. Steven Gardner will speak to SME’s support through mining, metallurgical and geological engineering programs for its members. An E-Week video narrated by Dr. John Tracy, Chief Technology Officer of the Boeing Company and a 2016 honorary chair of DiscoverE, will also be shown during the Awards Dinner.
“SME provides access to education, public information, business networking and technical exchange opportunities for mining and minerals industry professionals worldwide,” said SME Executive Director David L. Kanagy. “We appreciate the opportunity to promote the minerals industry and advance the professional development of members across a wide range of disciplines and areas of expertise during National Engineers Week.”
