Reverse Engineering of Turbomachinery Components

By: CFturbo

Many turbomachinery companies have collected many legacy designs for which 3D CAD data are available. Those CAD models are often non-parametrized or parametrized, with limited flexibility for a redesign. Turbomachinery components must be accessible for convenient and fast geometry modifications in terms of performance and efficiency.

CFturbo’s all-new, game-changing reverse engineering (RE) tool converts any bladed turbomachinery CAD model into a fully parametric CFturbo file for further simulation, design exploration, or optimization. It is an intelligent, easy-to-use, elegant, fast, powerful, and robust software solution.

  1. Dr Doug Michael Mech Engr T..M.I.E.T. says:

I have noticed an increasing reliance on electronic monitoring on pumps generally together with steam turbine driven pumps. It is to an extent deskilling pump engineers as it appears that instead of a regular walk round the plant ….listening and smelling for problems …..from what I am reading most of a “watch” will be take place from a distant control room…Also Seal manufacturers are having too much say in pump production / repair instead of being subservient to manufacturers they are “complicating ” the field to ensure that they have sales….
