CFturbo, Inc. Partners with Mechanical Solutions, Inc. to Automate Turbomachinery Design Exploration

By: CFturbo

As the design requirements for Turbomachinery becomes more and more demanding, CFturbo and Mechanical Solutions have combined Turbomachinery design software CFturbo with CFD-simulation software STAR CCM+ into one seamless solution.  This allows users to design Turbomachinery components easily, and to simulate designs using CFD software quickly. It results in improving turbomachine performance, power and efficiency.  CFD engineers have the option start with just a design point or with an existing geometry to design and simulate turbomachinery stages of pumps, blowers, compressors and turbines.

By working together, Mechanical Solutions, Inc. and CFturbo GmbH have enabled users to significantly reduce the time to get critical CFD results in the market for Turbomachinery design and simulation.

“Our development with CFturbo will enable engineers to easily model and modify impellers, rotors, stators and volutes with associative CFD results,” said Dr. Edward Bennett, Vice President Fluids Engineering at Mechanical Solutions, Inc.  “The seamless combination of CFturbo and STAR CCM+ software empowers aerodynamic or hydraulic design, CFD simulation and optimization of Turbomachinery geometries in a clear, straight forward process.”

“We bundle CFturbo software with STAR CCM+ to allow engineers to take advantage of an improved user-friendly workflow for high-fidelity Turbomachinery design and 3D-CFD simulation. CFturbo and STAR CCM+ users get realistic results that compare accurately with multiple field tests on various types of turbomachines providing users with the confidence to design excellent geometries” said Ralph Peter Mueller, Managing Director of CFturbo GmbH and President of CFturbo, Inc.
