Motor Circuit Analysis Testing

When a winding fault is detected from the motor control center or disconnect using MCA, a test must be performed at the motor. As motor circuit analysis measurements of Test Valve Static, phase angle and current/frequency response, and insulation to ground can detect cable faults as well.

De-Energized Testing in Place

If the winding tests good at the motor, then the cable has a fault. If the test improves but the fault still shows, it is both a cable and winding fault; and if the test shows the same results as the motor, the fault is in the stator windings.
