What is MORT?

MORT stands for “Management Oversight and Risk Tree” Analysis, which is a method of performing root cause analysis that specifically identifies inadequacies in barriers/controls, specific barrier and support functions, and management functions. MORT Analysis identifies specific factors relating to an event as well as the management factors that allowed those factors to play a role in that event.
