Control Freak™ Ensures Accuracy for Batch Processing of Plastics

A plastics processor adds mineral oil to color concentrates to use as a plasticizer in the batch processing of plastics. Since the amount of mineral oil used will vary depending upon the formulation of a particular plastic product, accurate metering is paramount.

The processor selected a Hydra-Cell D10/G10 equipped with a Control Freak touch-screen metering controller to ensure accuracy. Control Freak features built-in programming so the user can enter the desired flow rate or volume and system pressure. It automatically runs the pump manually at the desired flow rate or volume/total time, or in pre-set batches.

The D10/G10 is gravity-fed from a drum that is continuously fed from overhead totes. The Control Freak™ not only controls the operation of the D10/G10, it provides a flexible, economical way to manage dispense rates and volumes for accurate batches.
