V2 Grinder and Solids Handling Pumps Reduces Wastewater System Maintenance Requirements and Lower Life Cycle Costs

Not all preliminary wastewater treatment options are created equal. One mechanical device may adequately shred wastewater solids but might not raise the pressure level high enough to pass wastewater through smaller diameter pressure sewers. Achieving both of these goals without clogging, frequent maintenance or high energy costs is another consideration. What’s more, filter membranes on belt filter presses and centrifuge drums can be punctured by oversized particles – an expensive repair that often results when the wrong option is chosen.

The Myers® V2 Grinder Series Single Stage Centrifugal Grinder and Hydromatic® Premium Efficient Solids Handling Pump from Pentair address these concerns and more.

“Selecting the right grinder solution can easily pay for itself in damage and downtime prevention,” said Emmanuelle Dubu, Vice President, Pentair Flow Technologies – Engineered Flow. “Pentair makes that selection easy with two new grinder and solids handling pumps to meet these needs without the maintenance and repair headaches.”

Myers V2 Grinder Series – Built for rugged, continuous service and designed with simplicity in mind, this single-stage centrifugal grinder features enhanced cutters with double row bearings and an advanced cutting technology that increases durability and absorbs axial and radial loads. Quick disconnect, a reliable oil-filled 2HP motor and more make it a powerhouse you can depend on. In addition, users can easily switch between standard and high head flows with a simple change of the impeller and cutter plate:

  • Standard Design: 138 ft. at shut off and up to 34 GPM
  • High Head Design: 180 ft. at shutoff and up to 20 GPM

Hydromatic Premium Efficient Solids Handling Pump– Designed to ensure low life cycle costs and easy maintenance, this pump’s permanently lubricated bearings are maintenance free and the unit features hazardous location construction. Its long pump life comes from a non-toxic oil-filled motor for superior heat transfer and decreased operating temperature. In addition, the unit boasts seal leak detection, providing a true early warning system that is housed in a seal chamber. Double row bearings offer 50,000 hour life over the entire curve. It also offers easy installation with a terminal block that provides a positive connection¾no connection box, wire nuts or crimp connectors required.
