Neptune™, part of PSG®, a Dover company and a leading brand of chemical-metering and peristaltic pumps, portable mixers, chemical-feed systems and other related equipment, will be exhibiting in Booth 5895 at the upcoming 2018 International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo). Scheduled for Jan. 22-24, 2018, at the McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, USA, and celebrating its 86th anniversary, the AHR Expo is the world’s largest marketplace for professionals in the HVACR industry.
At the event, Neptune will be displaying its complete lines of products and accessories ideal for use in water treatment for boiler and cooling-tower applications. Because of the wide range of flow rates and volumes that are required in these applications, Neptune offers more sizes, configuration options and capacities for its products than competitive brands.
Neptune By-Pass and Filter Feeders provide a fast, easy and convenient way to introduce treatment chemicals into closed-loop recirculation systems. The By-Pass Feeders are offered in two styles: vertical with dish bottom in and vertical with dish bottom out. This makes them tailor-made for treating hot and chilled water in heating and air-conditioning systems, process heating and cooling systems, and large-engine water jackets. The Filter Feeders have been designed to combine high-capacity filtering with both solid and liquid chemical addition in hot or cold water-recirculation systems. What truly sets Neptune’s By-Pass and Filter Feeders apart, though, is a standard epoxy-coated, corrosion-resistant, high-pressure cap that is rated to 300 psi (21 bar) and binds tightly when under pressure for better sealing and Neptunereduced leakage concerns.
Neptune’s Glycol Feed Systems are designed for the addition of a glycol solution to closed-loop chilled or hot-water systems. The design of the Glycol Feeders allows for the automatic addition of a glycol solution that maintains the system pressure during operation, which overcomes harmful fluid losses that can occur due to leakage. The addition of glycol is controlled by a pressure switch that is equipped with low and high set points. When the pressure in the loop reaches the low set point, the pump feeds glycol into the system until the high-pressure set point is reached, at which time the glycol addition ceases.
The Neptune water-treatment accessories that will be on display in Booth 5895 include:
- Sample Coolers: Used to cool or sample hot-water or steam samples for easy, safe handling and effective sample collection.
- Corporation Stops and Injection Quills: Corporation Stops are used to rapidly and uniformly disperse chemicals that have been injected by metering pumps into tanks, mains, cooling towers and process systems. Injection quills are used with metering pumps to inject chemicals into the turbulent flow zone of high-pressure water and steam lines.
- Calibration Columns: Provide a fast, easy and economical means of checking the flow rate of chemical metering pumps, thereby verifying that the pump’s flow rate is within an accepted accuracy range.
- Back Pressure and Relief Valves: Back Pressure Valves maintain pressure at the pump’s outlet port to ensure accurate metering and proper check-valve operation, and to prevent syphoning. Relief Valves protect the piping system from damaging overpressure conditions.
