Partnership to Enhance Pumping Systems Efficiency

The Hydraulic Institute (HI) and Pump Systems Matter (PSM), HI’s educational affiliate, recently signed a joint training partnership agreement with Ambeone DMCC/Marketways Arabia, located in Dubai, UAE. The training partnership will bring the first ever Pump Systems Optimization Course (PSO) course in the Middle East.  Together, the companies share the mutual goal to bring the latest pump systems education programs to the Middle East.  The executive leadership of HI, the global authority on pumps and pumping systems, is looking forward to partnering with Ambeone, a leading training institute based in Dubai.  Together, both organizations will bring the most comprehensive pump training programs to increase energy efficiency as well as pump systems reliability and profitability across many countries.

Extensive pump systems training initiatives are planned for the Middle East region, which will support the UAE government’s vision and initiatives to increase efficiency of electricity and water systems while reducing usage in the country. The UAE government has placed a high priority on reducing water and energy consumption as the country is one of the highest per capita consumers of these resources.

The HI/PSM pump systems education program will target the oil and refinery sector as well as building services and the hospitality industry. Participants will learn to identify energy savings opportunities with pumping systems of up to 40% and how to reduce the annual costs related to water and energy consumption through optimal management of pumping systems.

This PSO course, developed and certified by HI, will be delivered by a pump expert specially trained and authorized by the Institute and PSM.  It will assist engineers in understanding the key components in pump optimization in a wide range of pumping systems, leading to comprehensive pump system assessments and, ultimately, energy savings.

Mark Sullivan, HI/PSM, Director, Education and Training, stated “This is the first international training partnership for the Hydraulic Institute, creating new global pump training opportunities for many diverse industries.  This relationship will help achieve the regional goals of reducing energy consumption associated with pumping systems.”

HI and Ambeone DMCC are currently working on delivering the first pump systems optimization course in Dubai in mid-April 2015.  Nita Mathur, Managing Director for Ambeone opined “Having this new educational partnership with HI and PSM takes our energy efficiency training to a new level.  We will be able to assist many pump end-users in creating more energy efficient pumping systems with increased bottom line savings.  All of our educational/training programs, which are licensed and fully supported by the Dubai government, are in complete alignment with HI’s and Pump Systems Matter’s goals.  Establishing a long-term training partnership with HI and PSM will enable us to use their global expertise and pump optimization experience to train and benefit the region in becoming more energy efficient.”
