Load Controls names Michael McClurg President

Load Controls, Inc., a provider of motor power sensors and controls, announced that Michael W. (Mike) McClurg had been named President.

William H. (Bill) McClurg, the firm’s co-Founder and current President will begin a well-earned retirement. Mike had previously held the chief marketing officer position at Load Controls. His background spans over 35 years in technology sales, marketing and engineering. He previously held sales management roles at Actifio (acquired by Google), IBM, and EMC (acquired by DELL). He holds a bachelor’s in engineering design from Tufts University and an MBA from Babson College.

“I’m excited to be able to help write the next chapter in Load Controls’ history. We have a fantastic, loyal customer base and the industry’s most complete line of motor power sensors and controls. With more attention being paid to energy awareness and the opportunity to make industrial motors more efficient, our future is very bright.” Mike McClurg said.

Bill McClurg started Load Controls in 1984 with Bob Nystrom. Bill pioneered the business of applying power sensing technology to industry challenges in the Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Discrete Manufacturing and Chemical Processing industries. His leadership, business acumen, and sense of humor have been the source of much industry lore. He has unjustly never been given proper credit for having popularized the ‘power nap’, a practice he sought to perfect. We wish him all the best for a long enjoyable retirement.

About Load Controls

Load Controls was incorporated in 1984 with the vision of providing motor power sensors to the process manufacturing world. Decades later, that remains our focus, with a full product portfolio and over five thousand happy customers, with hundreds of thousands of controls installed to mark our progress.

We sell our products directly around the globe, and through pump equipment distributors and electric component supply partners. Our sensors and controls are in use by 9 of the 10 world’s largest chemical processing firms, 9 of the 10 largest pharmaceutical companies globally and 7 of the 10 largest global paper and pulp processing manufacturers.

We are based in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, in our own “mini-mill” brick building, a modern replica of the many red brick buildings that dot our regional landscape. We manufacture all our controls and sensors here in Massachusetts.
