Hydraulic Institute Seeks Reviewers for Drafts of Updated ANSI/HI 10.1-10.5 Air-Operated Pumps

The Hydraulic Institute (HI), under the approval of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is seeking qualified individuals in North America to participate in the review process for the draft of updated Standard ANSI/HI 10.1-10.5 Air-Operated Pumps for Nomenclature, Definitions, Application, and Operation and ANSI/HI 10.6 Air-Operated Pump Tests.

These Standards apply to positive displacement air operated pumps including, but not limited to the following:

1.      Diaphragm Pumps

2.      Bellows Pumps

The purpose of ANSI/HI 10.1-10.5 document is to:

Provide readers with information regarding nomenclature, definitions, application, operation of positive displacement air operated pumps including, but not limited to diaphragm pumps, piston pumps, and bellow pumps.  Technical documents developed shall include, but are not limited to: types and nomenclature, definitions, design and application, installation, and operation and maintenance.

The purpose of ANSI/HI 10.6 document:

Applies to the test of air-operated diaphragm and bellows pumps only. Unless otherwise stated, all tests are conducted using water at ambient temperature.

Individuals and organizations located in North America directly and materially affected by these standards are asked to contact HI. These parties include pump users and specifiers, producers, standards developers, government agencies, and general interest groups.  HI is currently assembling a canvass list of all parties interested in reviewing the drafts. This list will be submitted to ANSI in order to meet its open canvass requirements.

To participate in the ANSI/HI canvass, contact Denielle Giordano, dgiordano@pumps.org or call973.267.9700 x115.
