Hydraulic Institute and the Submersible Wastewater Pump Association Hosting Pump Technical Training Seminar

The Hydraulic Institute (HI), the largest association of pump manufacturers in North America, and the Submersible Wastewater Pump Association (SWPA), the industry leader in providing technical information for submersible wastewater pumps, announce they are hosting a two-day training event specifically designed for pump system end-users and operators in the Water/Wastewater industry. The event will take place at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel in Columbus, OH, June 23-24, 2022.

This partnership will help develop the technical skills of those in the Water/Wastewater sector by bringing more than 10 instructors, each sharing product and application specific knowledge in 18 different training sessions. These sessions are designed to increase the understanding of pumps, specific applications, system interactions; and share best practices regarding troubleshooting common issues in Water/Wastewater pumping applications.

Michael Michaud, Executive Director, Hydraulic Institute, explains, “HI is always looking for new ways to educate the workforce. This joint event helps us better serve Water/Wastewater practitioners with industry specific content. Both organization’s training programs have long-been the references in the industry. By combining course materials and leveraging instructors from each organization we can truly provide a best-in-class event.”

Participants will leave this seminar with an understanding of how pumps, motors, drives and controls interact, are tested and used in Water/Wastewater facilities, as well as how to improve operations, identify and address common performance issues.

About the Hydraulic Institute (HI)

Founded in 1917, the Hydraulic Institute (HI) is the largest association of pump manufacturers in North America. The global authority on pumps and pump systems, HI develops standards and technical resources including application guidebooks, on-line tools and calculators. In addition to collecting statistical data and providing a forum for the industry, HI manages efficiency programs that stem from its advocacy work with the US Department of Energy. While the HI Energy Rating label is found on efficient equipment and the Pump System Assessment Professional (PSAP) certification designates individuals; both programs promote the efficient use of pumps and pumping systems. The Institute’s educational subsidiary, Pump Systems Matter (PSM), provides product neutral training on energy efficiency, reliability and effective applications of pump systems through an extensive catalog of live, virtual and on-demand courses and webinars. www.Pumps.org
