Carbon Capture and the Role of Engineered Check Valves

June 15, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

DFT Carbon Capture and the Role of Engineered Check Valves

DFT has heard a lot about carbon capture recently, which is becoming an increasingly important topic. This webinar will explore the alternative processes associated with carbon capture and the integral role of engineered check valves in these processes.

During this presentation, DFT will discuss what carbon dioxide is, how it is produced, methods of capturing carbon dioxide, how the captured gas is transported, different methods of storage, and uses in enhanced oil recovery.

DFT will explore selection of the appropriate check valves within the different carbon capture processes, including valve materials and pressure classes, highlighting their importance in maintaining optimal system performance and efficiency.

Key Takeaways

  • Understand what carbon dioxide is and how it can impact the environment.
  • Explore key methods of capturing carbon dioxide.
  • Learn how carbon dioxide is transported from producers to storage sites.
  • Examine the technologies involved in carbon dioxide sequestration (storage).
  • Gain insight into how carbon dioxide is used for enhanced oil recovery.

Speaker

Stephen O’Neill, Director of Sales & Marketing, DFT, Inc.
O’Neill has earned an MBA and is a degreed mechanical engineer with 30 years of experience in the valve industry including check valves, control valves, pressure relief valves and pulse jet valves.
