Europump publishes a useful Presentation on the Upcoming European Regulation for Circulators

In order to support companies facing the challenge created by the European regulation for circulators, Europump has issued a crystal clear and straightforward presentation on how to calculate the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) that is the cornerstone of the legislation.

“We are proud of the work achieved by Europump on circulators” says Guy Van Doorslaer, Europump Secretary General. “We want everyone to understand what this piece of legislation means and how to deal with the calculation of the EEI. This presentation can be used by companies to explain to clients or employees what it means. We encourage magazines to reproduce it in their pages, as long as they mention the source. The message must be heard by all companies in the European pump industry if they want to be ready by 1 January 2013.”

As from 1 January 2013, circulators must comply with European regulation 641/20091. This Regulation is part of the ecodesign policy of the European Union. Ecodesign legislation has and will continue to have a huge impact on the European pump industry.

The regulation on circulators will have a major impact on companies. With its Ecopump commitment, Europump has worked on this issue since 2005. It has held many meetings with policy makers at the European Commission, during which it has promoted the interests of pump manufacturers. Europump is closely following the discussions on eco-design for water pumps and other pumps.

The presentation can be downloaded from the Europump website www.europump.eu
