Emerging Leader of the Year: Nick Stidham
Nick Stidham has quickly distinguished himself as a rising star in engineering. With less than ten years of experience, Nick’s trajectory reflects a blend of technical expertise and commitment to continuous learning. He began his career in civil engineering drafting and now serves as a skilled professional in fluid sealing applications at SEPCO. Nick’s dedication to teamwork and integrity, coupled with his resilience and faith, drives his success. He embodies a passion for learning from industry veterans and contributing meaningfully to projects nationwide, setting a positive example for emerging professionals everywhere.
Engineer of the Year: Sanya Mathura
Sanya Mathura, founder of Strategic Reliability Solutions Ltd, exemplifies engineering excellence and leadership. Sanya has broken barriers in the lubrication industry, becoming the first woman globally to achieve multiple certifications in her field. Her work with international affiliates focuses on reliability and asset management, making her an influential force for clients worldwide. Beyond her technical accomplishments, Sanya is an advocate for diversity and inclusion, serving on UWI’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Mainstreaming Committee. Her achievements include six published books, and she
is a staunch supporter of women in STEM, inspiring others to follow her trailblazing path.
Operator of the Year: Jeremy Thompson
With over 25 years in wastewater operations, Jeremy Thompson is a seasoned leader. Currently a Supervisor III at the North Texas Municipal Water District, Jeremy is instrumently to the success of the facility and the staff he manages. His hands-on experience and commitment to professional growth are evident in the training program he developed, which has seen seven operators advance to leadership roles within the organization. Jeremy’s holistic approach to wastewater management and his dedication to employee development demonstrate his lasting impact on operational excellence and workforce advancement.
Mentor of the Year: Meaghan Ziemba
Meaghan Ziemba is more than a technical writer and marketer; she is a champion for the next generation of manufacturing talent. As the host of “Mavens of Manufacturing,” a live video broadcast series, Meaghan promotes the contributions of women in the industry and addresses the critical skills and gender gaps. Her work is a beacon for young people considering careers in manufacturing and engineering, showing them the opportunities available in these fields. With a background in professional and technical writing and years of experience in industrial storytelling, Meaghan’s influence as a mentor is both profound and far-reaching.
Industry Person of the Year: Tim Skell
Chosen by the Empowering Pumps & Equipment community, Tim Skell has earned the admiration of his peers as Industry Person of the Year. As the Global HVACR Application Engineering Manager at ABB, Tim leads a premier application engineering team, bridging product challenges with real-world solutions. Known for his insightful #FunFactFriday series on LinkedIn, Tim has educated and engaged audiences with over a million views, sharing his expertise in HVACR and water management applications. His ability to teach complex concepts and his passion for innovation has earned him the top spot in our empowering communities’ hearts.
