Danfoss intelligent drives in combination with existing sensors and edge intelligence can increase production line uptime. Intelligent drives can use inputs from external sensors, such as vibration sensors. This data is correlated with internal variables, including operating speed or load. The drive performs condition monitoring of equipment in service and provides early warnings in case degradation of performance is detected. Notification can be provided through the on-premises control system or a cloud solution.
On a production line conveyor, sensors measure vibration levels. Vibration levels that are to high could mean that a mechanical component is wearing out, leading to unscheduled downtime. The intelligent drive combines input form external sensors with internal data. It analyzes real-time data on the edge to detect changes, transmit early warnings, and identify deterioration issues. The drive will adjust the motor torque to protect the conveyor and optimize performance. It also sends a warning to the operator to add the conveyor to the maintenance schedule. Data is securely stored in the cloud, on-premises, and local data storage or in an automation system for further analysis.
