CDI Energy Products is scaling up its manufacturing and production output by approximately 400%, with a targeted focus on critical components for medical equipment combatting COVID-19. Many of CDI’s long-time customers are leaders in the healthcare industry and were in crucial need of a surge in supply of polymer components for their oxygen concentrators. The increased manufacturing yield is concentrated on CDI’s medical equipment wear components, including piston cups, piston rings, and other polymeric seals. This manufacturing boost is being deployed to support both CDI’s existing customers and other new customers in the oxygen equipment market across the globe.
The COVID-19 virus can cause people to experience respiratory distress and potential respiratory failure. Patients with such complications often need oxygen concentrators and ventilators for breathing assistance. CDI developed industry leading polymer compounds that offer lower friction, longer wear life, and excellent sealing properties resulting in longer life for oxygen concentrators.
