Blackmer®, a global leader in positive displacement and centrifugal pump, and reciprocating compressor technologies, has announced that its HXL Series Sliding Vane Pumps provide consistent reliability under the most demanding applications for a wide variety of liquid-transfer applications. HXL Series pumps are ideal for the transfer of products such as petroleum, diesel fuel, lube oils, bunker C, molasses, resins and solvents.
The HXL Series pumps meet the strict demands of liquid-terminal operations and barge or ship loading and unloading because they are designed for high-capacity product transfer, along with strong suction lift and self-priming capabilities. HXL Series pumps feature Blackmer’s revolutionary sliding vane technology, which provides consistent volumetric-output performance, even after significant in-service time. This eliminates the efficiency-robbing “slip” that shortens lobe and gear pump life and improves production yields by stripping lines of residual product. The HXL Series provides smooth, sliding vane action without metal-to-metal contact, which reduces pump friction, eliminates galling and minimizes agitation of fluids. This results in the mild handling of shear-sensitive liquids without product degradation.
The HXL Series is available in 6-, 8- and 10-inch sizes with operating speeds to 350 rpm and flow rates to 2,220 gpm (504 m3/h). The ductile iron (ASTM 536) pumps can withstand sudden thermal shock and stress beyond the capabilities of cast iron. The HXL Series can be powered with a standard electric motor or diesel engine through a commercial gear reducer.
