Design Envelope technology uses demand-based, digital control to dynamically adjust equipment operation in response to system demand. Design Envelope solutions provide energy savings of up to 75% compared to traditional constant speed and variable frequency operated installations.
Background
The View is a newly constructed residential high-rise located in Grandin City, one of Edmonton’s
serene park communities. Developed by Westrich Pacific Corp, The View offers easy access to schools, transit, and retail, making it one of the most sought-after new buildings in the city.
When the engineering team of The View wanted to install a system that was energy-efficient and sustainable, Armstrong was invited to contribute to the project. In many previous projects, the team had established a good working relationship with the engineering firm, wsp. Armstrong recommended installing Design Envelope 6800 Boosters as well as Design Envelope Vertical In-Line 4300 and 4380 pumps. Given that The View was a new construction, the engineers were focused on making the building energy-efficient, while prioritizing occupant comfort.
The Armstrong team also provided smart start-up and commissioning services for the equipment, which was highly appreciated by Arpi’s North, the lead contractor on the development project.
Reflecting on the installation and start-up, Roberto Bosco, National Solution Sales Manager, Canada noted, “We’re very pleased to have contributed to the success of a significant construction project. The solution design, the quality of the components and the commissioning services will benefit the building owners and occupants for years.”
