Applied Flow Technology just released a new design tool you’ll want to know more about. It helps engineers design smarter, compete better, and exceed expectations.
As software built by engineers for engineers, it’s a personal mission at Applied Flow Technology (AFT) to develop hydraulic flow modeling tools which truly impact the engineering community. Their engineering team of chemical and mechanical engineers carefully plan and develop software that fellow engineers use to design and troubleshoot piping systems.
Their industry leading product, AFT Fathom™, is used around the globe. AFT’s extensive portfolio of customers includes a majority of leading international companies and engineers from theme parks to aerospace, and refineries to power generation. AFT Fathom allows engineers to model and analyze their piping and ducting systems and has been used to identify solutions and create proactive designs within the world’s most advanced systems.
To accompany this already valuable tool, AFT has announced the release of an Automated Network Sizing (ANS) Module which will automatically size all piping and system components in an integrated manner to minimize weight and cost. This is done using advanced numerical searching algorithms available only in the ANS module.
The ANS Module is an extension tool of AFT Fathom, and it will not only help engineers design smarter, it will help engineering firms compete better. With the addition of the Automated Network Sizing (ANS) Module, engineers can turn a common steady-state hydraulic model into an advanced calculation tool to search for cost reduction opportunities in pipe systems.
AFT expects the Automated Network Sizing (ANS) Module will save an average of 10-15% on piping and energy costs each time it is used on a project.
