Empowering Pumps Announces the 2017 Pump Person of the Year!

Empowering Pumps recently began inviting industry professionals to Nominate a Pump Person of the Week because there are so many talented and interesting people working in the Pump Industry that we wanted to shine a spotlight on individuals who make valuable contributions inside and outside their workplace.

The nominations have been pouring in, and Empowering Pumps has enjoyed introducing the #PumpTalk Community to these fascinating individuals (Meet our Persons of the Week!)

As the Social Media Leader for the Pump Industry, Empowering Pumps decided to ask our #PumpTalk Community to pick their favorite person through online voting that began December 1st. Over the past two weeks, votes have mounted to an intense competition; but now, we are happy to announce our 2017 Pump Person of the Year!

With over 2,000 votes, we are pleased to declare Steve Hernandez (@WaterWiseProis our 2017 Pump Person of the Year!

Steve was nominated by Artun Ereren, and currently serves as the Water Services Manager for the City of Watsonville in California in addition to being the Director of the Monterrey Bay Waterworks Association. Hernandez, who has been working in the water sector for the past 18 years, is using social media to help other water operators working across the United States.

Upon receiving news of this award, which comes with a $1,000 cash gift, Hernandez responded, “I am floored by the amount of support that I received for this award! I am completely humbled and honored to be a part of this event and the Empowering Pump Family! I have put tons of effort toward growing a stronger industry and this is definitely a reminder that what I am doing is helping others. Thank you so very much!”
