Xylem’s Goulds Water Technology Launches Data Matrix Codes

Xylem Inc., a leading global water technology company focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, announced today the addition of Data Matrix codes on all Goulds Water Technology 5 – 25 GPM submersibles products. The Data Matrix code, located on the product label, provides visibility to critical performance data such as psi, watts, amps and other operational information. The Data Matrix codes will appear on product labels effective August 1, 2012.
“We are very pleased to introduce Data Matrix codes to the marketplace and to our customers. Our customers often work on site and now they have direct access to pump performance data from any location simply by using a smartphone. The information provided on our Data Matrix codes ensures our pumps, and the systems they support, are performing as efficiently as possible,” said Kyle Schoenheit, senior product manager, Xylem Residential and Commercial Water.
The Data Matrix codes provide customers with manufacturer ID, part number and a unique serial number.  Users can also view:
  • Pump order number
  • Pump serial number
  • Motor order number
  • Motor serial number
  • Assembly date and time
  • Performance data at 0 GPM: pressure (psi), power (Watts) and current (Amps)
A Data Matrix code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode arranged in a square or rectangular pattern and is readable by most smartphones. Data Matrix readers are available as a free download from the iTunes App Store® and Google Play™.
