Wilo USA Realignment Strategy Includes Consolidating Thomasville, Georgia And Cedarburg, Wisconsin Locations

The decision to consolidate the Wilo Thomasville, GA locations at 86 Genesis Parkway and 710 Campbell Street, into the existing Cedarburg, WI facilities, was announced last week in Thomasville. Wilo USA LLC, CEO & Managing Director, Jeff Plaster, and CFO, Daniel Podgorny, made the announcement.

“Reshaping the Wilo legacy business model was done in order to capitalize on synergies, and to position Wilo USA for future growth and success,” Plaster said. “Business decisions that directly impact the lives of our employees are difficult, and we will support impacted employees by helping them through the transition or by transferring to our Cedarburg facilities.”

The Thomasville decision factored in many issues, like current market conditions, process and production efficiencies, and other issues including the Wilo Group worldwide review of its entire portfolio for future growth.

“It was important that we inform our employees of this decision as soon as possible to be transparent,” Plaster said, adding that the plans included:

  • Integrating all machining, product lines and operations from Thomasville into the company’s Cedarburg facilities;
  • Reassigning or transferring employees from Thomasville; and
  • Retaining certain positions at Thomasville that will become a Center of Excellence.

The decision ensures the company will be better able to fully utilize the capacity of its remaining facilities, including the facilities taken over by Wilo in connection with the 2017 asset acquisitions of pump manufacturers, Weil Pump Company and Scot Pump Company, and their related machining company formerly known as Karak Machine Corporation.

“The consolidation process is underway, and is targeting completion by the end of Q3/2019, without any interruption of service to our customers and partners,” added Plaster. “The Thomasville decision is another step in the realization of our post-acquisition integration strategy, and unified operations.”
