A manufacturer of drilling fluids for the oil industry uses chemistry to increase the efficiency of the acids, reagents, boring additives, varnishes, enamels, and emulsifiers that it produces. The company was using single-diaphragm pumps, gear pumps, and plunger pumps to handle such a variety of corrosive liquids.
The diaphragm pumps caused severe pulsations when dosing, while leaking seals on the plunger and gear pumps were a problem. Four Hydra-Cell D10/G10 pumps with corrosion-resistant polypropylene heads were subsequently installed for dosing additives, feeding acids, and pumping reagents.
With hydraulically balanced, multiple diaphragms, Hydra-Cell provides virtually pulse-free flow. The seal-less design means that there are no mechanical or dynamic seals to leak, wear, or replace. The Hydra-Cell pumps have proved versatile, reliable, easy to maintain, and energy-efficient, providing significant cost savings.
