An oil and gas company used H-Pumps (HPS) for years to produce its multi-well pad for jet pump hydraulic artificial lift. The system required 300 horsepower at a monthly cost of more than $17,000.00 for electricity. Since the pumped fluid has high salinity, the mechanical seal on the HPS also needed frequent replacement.
With the introduction of the Hydra-Cell Q330 Series High Pressure pump line, Wanner Engineering can now deliver the flow rates and pressures required for this application. The energy producer replaced the HPS with a Hydra-Cell Q330 Seal-less Pump. As a result, it has reduced power consumption and avoided
unexpected downtime due to seal leakage and replacement.
Hydra-Cell offers mechanical-to-hydraulic efficiencies of 95%, a vast improvement over approximately 70% for the HPS. Although the Q330 is the largest pump in the Hydra-Cell line, its footprint is much smaller than the HPS. The oil and gas company has now lowered its operating expenses with a higher return on investment.
