Hydra-Cell is the “Multiple Choice” for Pumping Machine Tool Coolant

Sold to metalworking facilities as “coolant-through-spindle ready,” a manufacturer of highly reliable machining centers (with more than 5,000 operating in the USA alone) installs Hydra-Cell seal-less pumps as part of its complete systems.

Designed for milling, drilling and tapping, the machining centers are built to perform for three shifts a day, seven days a week, year in and year out. Installed on more than 200 machines in 2013, Hydra-Cell model M03 pumps also perform reliably on continuous duty, pumping machine tool coolant at high pressure. The coolant enhances the ability of the end user to machine faster with greater accuracy, improved surface finish, and extended tool life.

More than 200 Hydra-Cell model M03 pumps were installed in 2013 on multitasking machining centers for an OEM of metalworking equipment. Shown with a Brass pump head, the Hydra-Cell M03 has a flow capacity of 3.1 gpm (11.7 l/min) and maximum pressure of 1200 psi (83 bar).

Hydra-Cell is the choice of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) because it handles metal fines harbored in the coolant that can destroy high-pressure screw, gear, or centrifugal pumps. With its seal-less design, Hydra-Cell can also run dry without damage and can pump low-viscosity water-based coolants as well as higher-viscosity cutting oils.
