A.W. Chesterton Company Expands Distribution Territory

Valve Automation & Controls (VAC), a W&O company and provider of innovative, state-of-the-art fluid control solutions to the industrial, water, wastewater and marine markets, announces the expansion of its distribution territory with Chesterton to include Los Angeles and San Diego. Founded in 1884, Chesterton is a leading manufacturer of fluid sealing products, coatings, cleaners, lubricants and specialty products. Its high quality and time-tested products meet EPA Clean Air Act emissions requirements for sealing devices, and are used in applications such as pump mechanical seals, valve and pump packing, gaskets, reaction seals, hydraulic cylinder seals, and more.

“The expansion of the distribution territory with Chesterton is the result of a successful partnership between the companies and W&O’s commitment to providing top-of-the-line products,” said Michael Hume, President and CEO of W&O. “We are proud to have two highly trained product specialists, Jesus Munoz and Ted Brunner, who came to VAC from Chesterton and will be directly supporting customers in finding solutions to meet their needs.”

The relationship between W&O, VAC and Chesterton began in late 2012 when Chesterton was seeking to expand its influence in the marine industry, which led to a successful partnership with W&O in the Gulf of Mexico region. The new partnership that expands VAC’s distribution with Chesterton in San Diego and Los Angeles will allow VAC to broaden its customer base to include commercial and industrial markets.

David Lamphier, product manager of sealing technologies for VAC, adds, “We are very pleased to be able to represent Chesterton in the Southern California region. With the addition of the Chesterton Sealing Device line to our vast selection of PVF, Engineered Solutions and Valve Actuation capabilities, we will be able to provide a complete system solution for all of our customers’ fluid handling needs in both the marine and industrial marketplace.”

A.W. Chesterton Company is a leading global manufacturer of fluid sealing products (mechanical seals, packing and gaskets, and polymer seals), industrial ceramic-based coatings (ARC coatings), and Industrial Lubrication and MRO Chemicals, and services a wide variety of global industrial-based customers.
