Sulzer’s open days to showcase advanced services for separation units

Sulzer’s latest one-to-one workshop on automated weld overlay (AWO) will show Middle Eastern businesses in the oil and gas sector how the technology can maximize the service life of their mass transfer solutions. The open house event, taking place from September 10-13, will give industry representatives a chance to see AWO specialists at work in Sulzer’s service center in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

In a changing global oil market, high performance and reliability help refineries and petrochemical plant facilities optimize their uptime, capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operating expenses (OPEX), thus maximizing their profitability. Finding trusted specialists that can deliver key pieces of equipment as well as offer round-the-clock, high-quality maintenance and repair services is vital to ensuring these goals are met.

Sulzer Chemtech, the leader in separation and mixing technology, offers more than key mass transfer components. It also has over 40 years of experience in field services as well as tower, drum and vessel maintenance, repair and revamps. To showcase its state-of-the-art and comprehensive capabilities, Sulzer is inviting Middle Eastern businesses to one-to-one appointment-based tours of its facility in Jubail.

During the event, visitors will be able to learn more about Sulzer’s AWO technology, CladFuseTM, through onsite demonstrations of vessel repairs. In this way, guests will see how operators can deliver a fully automated repair process that carefully controls key parameters, such as temperature and speed.

Ramann Sundaresan, Director of Sales at Sulzer Chemtech Middle East, explains: “A number of our customers in the region have expressed their interest in our AWO capabilities and how it works. This workshop will give them the opportunity to have their questions answered and see the outcomes we can offer.”

“Weld overlay is a key solution for refineries and petrochemical plants, as it is the only method that can offer time- and cost-efficiency as well as long-term reliability. Sulzer has mastered this repair technique and is currently the only business able to perform AWO in the region,” adds Nitin Gaikwad, Head of Sulzer Tower Field Services for India and Middle East Region. “With these AWO technology open days, we aim to raise awareness of how we can restore towers, coke drums, reactors and other units to their original capabilities without the need to replace them.”

one-to-one discussions with Sulzer’s experts about how the technology can support their own manufacturing sites as well as what other products and services Sulzer can offer to maximize plant productivity and efficiency.

Andrew Petticrew, Head of Global Sales for Automated Weld Overlay at Sulzer, concludes: “We look forward to welcoming Middle Eastern refineries and petrochemical companies to our workshop. During the open days we will demonstrate to businesses how they can substantially benefit from Sulzer’s global capabilities and one-stop-shop for any mass transfer need.”
