Sulzer has announced the opening of its purpose-built Lausitz Service Center.

As a global pump original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and independent service provider (ISP) for any type or brand of rotating equipment, Sulzer operates a worldwide network of service centers. With its ‘one-stop-shop’ philosophy, the Lausitz Service Center offers repairs and upgrades for complete trains of pumps, gearboxes, compressors, turbines, blowers and more. It also hosts one of Sulzer’s mechanical seal repair shops.

Repairs, retrofits and reverse engineering are supported by a parts manufacturing capability. A wide selection of machine tools means that large casings, shafts and a wide range of other new mechanical parts can be produced in-house, shortening lead times and reducing costs for customers. Beyond in-house capabilities, a highly responsive team of dedicated field service engineers is available to rapidly respond to any customer on-site requirement.

The service center has many other specialties aimed at providing targeted equipment services for the paper industry, supporting refineries as well as power stations and maintaining critical pumps used for dewatering and flood alleviation. New insulation in the building will also greatly reduce the overall energy consumption and carbon footprint at the site.

Uwe concludes: “The new service center is already fully operational and we are excited to see our customers benefiting from our enhanced capabilities. We look forward to helping more companies in the region optimize their equipment and processes.”
