Extending reliability with proactive solutions in mining

Displaying its comprehensive pump and service solutions for the mining industry, Sulzer has announced its attendance at the Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) 2023. Visitors can meet with Sulzer experts on Stand P139 from September 5-7 at the Sydney Showground.

Sulzer has a worldwide network of manufacturing facilities and service centers that offer unrivaled expertise in supporting the mining industry. As a leading manufacturer, Sulzer has one of the most comprehensive ranges of pumps in the world, with many of them specifically designed for mining applications. Also an independent service provider, the company offers innovative solutions in the maintenance and repair of rotating equipment used throughout the industry.

Flow Equipment

Sulzer is a global original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and a world leader in pumping technology. It has an exceptional range of specialized pumps and agitators for mine water management, minerals, and metals processing applications. Beyond its widely adopted range of standard models, it offers wholly customized solutions to ensure reliable pumping performance with abrasive, corrosive, slurry or clear liquids.

Sulzer’s unrivalled design expertise ensures that its pumps deliver market-leading efficiency – lowering energy usage, reducing costs and minimizing carbon footprint. Durability and reliability are promoted through advanced material technologies, enabling extended service intervals, improved pump uptime and a much longer mean time between failures (MTBF). Wireless condition monitoring, supported by the insights of Sulzer experts, provides all the analytics required to inform effective preventative maintenance.

Services

At this year’s AIMEX, Sulzer will demonstrate its extensive knowledge of mining equipment. Offering a comprehensive range of services, Sulzer’s experts deliver cost-effective, pro-active maintenance support for all rotating equipment.

This includes support for mobile equipment such as electric drive haul truck, electric rope shovels and draglines, for which Sulzer has dedicated maintenance facilities for overhauling these vital components, including upgrading DC drives to AC units. Additional investment has been made in exchange wheel motors, grid blowers and alternators for electric-drive haul trucks as part of the reconditioned exchange program. These can be delivered and installed rapidly, saving time and boosting mine productivity.

Using its extensive service center network and state-of-the-art repair facilities, Sulzer can also provide on-site maintenance as well as complete overhauls of large pumps, including reverse engineering of obsolete parts. As a one-stop shop for rotating equipment including pumps, generators and motors, Sulzer also has expert design and manufacturing capabilities for new high-voltage coils with an extensive database of coil designs, as well as for commutators.

Forward thinking repairs and high-quality upgrades to existing equipment can extend reliability and reduce running costs. For more information about Sulzer’s capabilities, visit the experts and discuss current and future maintenance needs on Stand P139.
