Single Phase Power Solutions (SPPS) announces their first single-phase engineered pump system installation in the Dominican Republic. The 60HP pump system featuring SPPS’ BELLE™ Written-Pole™ motor coupled to a Cornell pump operates from electric lines installed by the customer and will irrigate a newly planted plantain field from a riverbank in a remote area of the island. Designed specifically for this project, the engineered pump system includes the skid-mounted motor, pump, control panel, as well as all necessary instrumentation for out-of-the-box productivity. It is the first SPPS installation in the island nation which typically relies on diesel-powered generators for irrigation of remote areas. Ariel Rodriguez, a local distributor for SPPS, worked with the plantain farm and SPPS to bring the project to fruition.
“Remote locations like this new plantain farm where three-phase power is not available are ideal scenarios for our proven, reliable engineered pump systems,” said Ben Morris, Single Phase Power Solutions’ Director of Sales and Marketing. “Our single-phase pumps operate at as much as 60% less than the diesel engines normally used and because of the low cost of power in the Dominican that cost savings are even greater. We’re excited to offer a better, more efficient, way to get the much-needed water to plantain fields as well as other crops and help growing farms in the region.”
