Pump Manufacturer seepex expands

Wenco, Inc., has announced the completion of a major expansion for  seepex, Inc., an Enon company that manufactures state-of-the-art pumps for a variety of industry segments in North and South America.

The design and construction of a 51,000 square foot manufacturing addition to the company’s Clark County headquarters has allowed seepex, Inc., to significantly expand its workforce and retain jobs.

Mark Long, Project Engineer, seepex Inc., was responsible for the implementation of the expansion program, stated that “WENCO was an excellent company to work with and our two companies developed a great working relationship. Everyone assigned to the project worked as a team. As the needs changed once the project started, WENCO demonstrated a lot of flexibility in accommodating those modifications with great understanding and professionalism.”

According to Nelson Wenrick, president, Wenco, Inc., “We are very proud to have played a role in growing our local economy by providing the building expansion for seepex, Inc. While seepex, Inc, has its parent company in Germany, it now has substantial roots in Ohio to serve the growing demand for their products throughout North and South America.”

The company’s customers include Procter and Gamble, Nestle, Hershey, Unilever, Chevron, Husky, and ExxonMobil. Pumps manufactured by seepex are used for a variety of applications and serve diverse markets ranging from Food Processing, Chemical Processing, Power Generation, Oil and Gas Production and Municipal Water Treatment Facilities.

The just completed expansion will allow seepex to increase its production from about 3,500 pumps annually to 8,000 a year according to Kamran Mirza, Director of Business Development and Public Relations for seepex Inc. “This will also benefit raw material suppliers, machine shops and fabricators in the region as it will also increase their business along with seepex,” said Mirza.

“At one time seepex considered expanding in Shanghai, but preferred to invest in our local community and developed a business model that would result in building a high quality cost-effective product right here in Ohio. This is American ingenuity at its finest. Creating jobs for our highly skilled work force and supporting the economy of the area we live in,” added Mirza.

As Mirza summarized, “We at seepex are committed to the community here in Clark County. We manufacture and export a high quality product. We do not export jobs.”

Mirza further concluded that the expansion will include a state-of-the-art laboratory for Elastomer Development and Advanced Materials Science that will support the worldwide needs of seepex and serve as a Center of Excellence for Research and Development.
