PSG® Technology for the Packaging Industry on Display at PACK EXPO International

By: PSG

PSG®, a Dover company and a global leader in the manufacture of pumps, systems and related flow-control solutions, is pleased to announce that several of its brands will be exhibiting their market-leading technologies in booth E-9035 at the 2018 PACK EXPO International. PACK EXPO International – which is one of the world’s largest events for the packaging industry – will take place on Oct. 14-17 in Chicago, IL, USA. Specifically, the PSG brands that will be on display at this year’s show include Mouvex, Quattroflow and Wilden®.

Mouvex will be showcasing numerous models of its eccentric disc pump. One of the many features and benefits of Mouvex pumps that will be highlighted at the show includes the pumps’ capability to enhance product recovery capabilities by recovering product from transfer lines at rates of 60% to 80% or more, resulting in manufacturing cost savings annually. Mouvex eccentric disc pumps – SLS models – are ideal for optimizing product-recovery applications because of their ability to pump air, which creates a vacuum effect on the pump’s suction side and a compressor effect of the discharge side. This results in a plug effect that pushes a complete product “plug” out of the piping.

Quattroflow will be featuring its QuattroTec Series quaternary diaphragm pumps. The QuattroTec Series is the ideal solution for the packaging industry because of their ability to provide the safe, reliable and efficient transfer of liquids that require precise flow, gentle handling, high turndown and accurate dosing in a hermetically sealed environment. The unique design of the QuattroTec Series incorporates four-piston diaphragm technology with no mechanical seals driven by an eccentric shaft and electric motor. This design results in the ability to transfer clean-in-place (CIP) media with the same pump while providing self-priming and dry run capabilities, a compact footprint and high-suction lift.

Wilden will be highlighting its Saniflo Hygienic Series (HS) air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps and Pure-Fuse diaphragms. Wilden Saniflo HS pumps offer the versatility, safety and capability you need to efficiently pump an array of viscosities, solids and shear-sensitive products thanks to a one-of-a-kind design that incorporates a free-draining flow path that optimizes performance and enables CIP capability while lowering the risk of cross contamination or compromised finished product that may lead to costly recalls. In addition, the Saniflo HS pump design does not contain any mechanical seals or rotating parts, and reduces internal friction to provide consistent output. The cleanability and performance of Saniflo HS pumps are even more enhanced with the use of Wilden Pure-Fuse diaphragms, which feature a one-piece design that eliminates product-trap areas between the out piston and diaphragm that can harbor bacteria. This patented design also provides an unbroken fluid-contact surface for exceptional CIP capability and reduced contamination risks.
