Graco Inc., a leading manufacturer of fluid handling equipment, has launched SoloTechTM, its new line of peristaltic pumps. There are four pump sizes available ranging from a 10mm hose size to 30 mm. There are also AC and brushless DC motor options available for each size.
The SoloTechTM pump design has a single roller that compresses an engineered hose through a full 360 degree rotation, which extends hose life over the conventional shoe design with dual compression. “The SoloTechTM pumps are designed to have better flow, lower cost of ownership than other comparable pumps,” says Jeff Shaffer, Graco’s Process Marketing Manager. “The single roll design extense hose life by reducing friction, temperatures, compressions, and starting torque which allows lower flow rates on larger pumps.” The single roller design is also easy and inexpensive to maintain because there are no valves, seals, or glands. The SoloTechTM pumps were also built to handle large solids, self prime, run dry, and are 100% reversible, which can be used to empty lines or clear blockages.
“The SoloTechTM pumps are designed to handle many materials that other pumps cannot manage,” continues Shaffer. “We offer hose materials to handle abrasive and highly corrosive chemicals.” The key applications for this pump are water treatment plants, chemical and chemical slurry transfer, and yeast transfer for beer production. The versatility of this pump also makes it available for a wide range of other applications.
