In this episode of the Empowering Industry Podcast, Charli sits down with Yuri Reis, a mechanical engineer at Teadit who has been with the company since 2017, to discuss high-performance sealing in aluminum plants and the critical role it plays in reliability and uptime.
Yuri shares insights into the extreme conditions faced when handling bauxite slurry, including high abrasiveness and caustic environments, and explains what it takes to maintain seal integrity in these demanding applications. From material selection to filament engineering and proper installation, this conversation highlights the technical factors that directly impact performance.
They also explore the three key pillars of sealability, why product selection alone is not enough, and how proper operation, maintenance, and support help reduce unplanned outages and extend equipment life.
If you are focused on improving reliability, reducing downtime, and optimizing pump performance in harsh environments, this episode offers valuable, real-world insight.
