Mouvex® Product Recovery Demonstration Unit Featured At Innovation-Food Expo

Mouves®, part of Pump Solutions Group (PSG®) and a leading manufacturer of positive displacement pumps for the food-and-beverage industry, is pleased to announce that its new Product-Recovery Demonstration Unit was featured at the Innovation-Food Expo from June 3-5 in Stuttgart, Germany. The Mouvex Product Recovery Demo Unit, which features SLS Series Eccentric Disc Pump technology, was on display in the UNI-FÖRDERTECHNIK GmbH (UNI-F) booth during the show. UNI-F is the local German distributor for Mouvex.

“This Product-Recovery Unit is a great live demonstration to show the customer that the pump is able to accomplish this task, and associated savings resulting from product recovery,” said Göran Müller, Sales Manager at UNI-F.

Product Recovery is a term that refers to the high utilization (or yield) of product or ingredient substantially eliminating waste that would otherwise remain in suction or discharge process lines during changeovers or at the end of production runs. Mouvex’s new Product Recovery Demo Unit features an SLS Series pump and has been designed to show food-and-beverage manufacturers how they can benefit from the product-recovery capabilities of SLS pumps.

“Product loss is often treated as nothing more than an acceptable ‘cost of doing business’ in food-and-beverage manufacture,” said Wallace Wittkoff, PSG Director Global Segment, Hygienic. “However, our Mouvex Eccentric Disc Pumps, when used in product-recovery applications, have been proven to recover product from transfer lines at typical rates of 70% to 80% or more. This can equate to literally tens of thousands of dollars of savings per pump.”

The SLS Series pumps set a new standard in efficiency and reliability in product recovery. No other pump can claim this collection of features and benefits for food-and-beverage product-recovery operations: no slip, even when pumping air; leak-free design with no mechanical seals; no pulsation for volumetric consistency and product safety; and clean-in-place/sanitize-in-place (CIP/SIP) capabilities.
