Mouvex® To Highlight Product Recovery Benefits At 2014 IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo

Mouvex®, part of Pump Solutions Group (PSG®) and a leading manufacturer of positive displacement pumps for the food-and-beverage industry, is pleased to announce that it will be displaying various models of its industry-leading Eccentric Disc Pump technologies in Booth No. 3547 at the upcoming Institute of Food Technologists’ IFT Annual Meeting & Food Expo. The show, which will be commemorating IFT’s 75th anniversary, is scheduled for June 21-24 at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA.

The IFT Show is the perfect venue for Mouvex to illustrate how its Eccentric Disc Pump technologies can help food-and-beverage manufacturers and packagers optimize Product Recovery and, in turn, “profit recovery.” Product Recovery is a term that refers to the high utilization (or yield) of product or ingredient substantially eliminating waste that would otherwise remain in suction or discharge process lines during changeovers or at the end of production runs.

“Product loss is often treated as nothing more than an acceptable ‘cost of doing business’ in food-and-beverage manufacture,” said Wallace Wittkoff, Global Director of the Hygienic Segment for PSG. “Flushing away costly raw materials or disposing of saleable finished products that may remain in transfer lines at the end of production runs can annually take thousands of dollars off the manufacturer’s bottom line. However, our Mouvex Eccentric Disc Pumps, when used in product-recovery applications, have been proven to recover product from transfer lines at typical rates from 70% to 80% or more. This can equate to literally tens of thousands of dollars of savings per pump.”

To help show food-and-beverage manufacturers how much product-recovery savings can be realized by switching to eccentric disc pumps, Mouvex has developed a worksheet that calculates product-recovery savings when specific operating characteristics are presented. You can download the Product Recovery Worksheet here. For an up-close look at how Mouvex Eccentric Disc Pumps can enhance food-and-beverage product recovery, Mouvex will have its new Product Recovery Demo Unit on display at its booth during the show.

Mouvex offers various styles of Eccentric Disc Pump technologies, all of which feature a seal-free design and CIP/SIP capabilities that have been designed to put more profits toward the food-and-beverage manufacturer’s bottom line, rather than being flushed down the drain.
