Join us for an ongoing series where Vince, Empowering Pump’s Director of Business Development, brings on guests to teach him technical skills useful for those working in the pump and related equipment industry.
This episode, Vince talks to BJ Warren with Cornell Pump, all about how monitoring of rotating equipment can save money.
Remote monitoring through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) provides great opportunities to pump users; ability to see equipment performance, remote start and stop, condition alerts and alarms, and predictive maintenance are just some of the benefits that accrue with these systems. Cornell Pump’s IIoT Market Manager, BJ Warren, will discuss general basics and design of IIoT systems, explore various levels of service from IoT monitoring, detail how not only pumps but engines, valves flow meters, and more can be connected, share success stories of applications, and touch on the upcoming role of big data in predictive analytics from IIoT devices.
BJ Warren has been with Cornell Pump for five years, first as an agricultural applications engineer, and since March 2019 as the IIoT Sales Manager. He has more than 10 years experience in engineering fabrication with a number of west coast manufacturing companies. He is a San Jose State graduate, with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
