Load Controls Incorporated (“Load Controls”), the company behind a line of high-performance motor controls with a mission to make the industrial world more efficient, today announced that it has become a Certified B Corporation™ (“B Corp”), further recognizing and deepening its commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Achieving B Corp™ Certification by the non-profit B Lab™, confirms Load Controls’ ongoing commitment to, and transparency throughout its mission-driven business. Facilitated by B Lab™, Load Controls underwent a rigorous and extensive review of its environmental and social practices and policies and was assessed across five pillars: corporate governance, workers, community, environment, and customers, and achieved an overall impact score of 82.1, far exceeding the 50.9 average score of companies undergoing the assessment.
“Achieving the B Corp™ Certification affirms, through an incredibly rigorous process, that Load Controls adheres to the highest levels of social and environmental performance,” said Michael McClurg, President at Load Controls. “Load Controls is proud to join a community of like-minded organizations who are driving a global movement of business as a force for good. We are particularly excited to achieve this recognition as we mark our 40th anniversary.”
Creating A More Efficient Future
In accordance with Load Controls’ mission to make the industrial world more energy efficient, the firm has pioneered innovative ways to measure motor power levels for decades. These motor power controls are used not only to protect motors, pumps, and their attached processes, but also to provide key data to assess and identify motor inefficiencies.
Load Controls has also partnered with the UMass Amherst Water and Energy Technology Lab to research and test solutions to improve efficiency of drinking water distribution and waste treatment, as well as power quality research in third-world locations.
Load Controls lives its mission at its company headquarters, which include EV charging and wetlands fed by rainwater capture facilities. 100% of all greenhouse gases produced are offset, and 100% of all production waste is reused or recycled.

About Load Controls
Load Controls was incorporated in 1984 with the vision of providing motor power sensors to the process manufacturing world. Decades later, that remains our focus, with a full product portfolio and over seven thousand happy customers, with hundreds of thousands of controls installed to mark our progress.
We sell products directly around the globe, and through pump equipment distributors and electric component supply partners. Our sensors and controls are in use by 9 of the 10 world’s largest chemical processing firms, 9 of the 10 largest pharmaceutical companies globally and 7 of the 10 largest global paper and pulp processing manufacturers.
We are based in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, in our own “mini-mill” brick building, a modern replica of the many red brick buildings that dot our regional landscape. We manufacture all our controls and sensors here in Massachusetts.
In August 2022, Load Controls’ quality management system achieved the ISO9001:2015 Certification. Contact us at sales@loadcontrols.com for more details.
