KSB Canned Motor Pumps to Be Displayed at ACHEMA 2015

By: KSB

KSB, the world’s most experienced supplier of pumps and pump parts, will showcase the new Echochem Non-Seal leak-free canned motor pumps at ACHEMA 2015 in Frankfurt, Germany. These pumps are presented by KSB Aktengesellschaft, Germany and are capable of transporting hazardous, aggressive, flammable, and explosive fluids. In addition, the pumps can handle toxic, extremely hot or cold, and volatile and valuable liquids.

The Echochem Non-Seal series will be available in four standard variants to be used for standard chemical applications, heat transfer fluids, polymerizing or ferrite-containing fluids, and for low-boiling fluids and liquefied gases.

A legacy of excellence
KSB Ecochem Canned PumpThe new series of pumps combines two of its predecessors to deliver superior performance. KSB’s MegaCPK, a standardized chemical pump used in process engineering for years, and innovative canned motors from Japanese cooperation partner, Nikkiso, combine to create this ground-breaking product. The low-noise motor is made with a corrosion-resistant Hastelloy (2.4610) can and the pump’s dimensions are compliant with ISO 2858. They also meet the requirements and standards of DIN/EN/ISO 15783 and API 685.

Product-lubricated plain bearings made with pure silicon carbide or a silicon-carbide-graphite compound optimally match the bearing configuration to the pump’s operation and the liquid handled. The pump casing can also be heated, if needed, to prevent blockage caused by fluid cooling and becoming viscose or solid. Sixteen motor sizes are available (rated up to 75 kW) so drive can meet demand, and the modular design reduces the number of parts that require storage.

As an optional asset, E-Monitors are available to monitor the axial and radial condition of bearings, with an integrated direction-of-rotation indicator to eliminate the need for phase rotation measurements during commissioning. The built-in operating status indicator is another useful function for ensuring operation even in loud environments. Because power for the E-Monitor is supplied through the motor’s terminal box, no external cabling is required.

Process industries world forum
ACHEMA 2015 is a world forum for chemical engineering and the process industry. It is a technology summit and a platform for unveiling new innovations from all over the world. An international network of experts and executives will join forces to make investment decisions and see the future of process industry technology. The event will take place June 15-19, 2015 at Messe Frankfurt.
