John Crane Asset Management Solutions Wins Major Contract to Supply Condition-based Monitoring Services to Texas Oil Refinery

John Crane Asset Management Solutions has secured a major contract win in the United States which will see the company supply condition-based maintenance (CBM) services to a major oil refinery.

The contract will see John Crane Asset Management Solutions personnel deployed to a major Texas refinery from the company’s operational offices in Aberdeen and Pasadena, Texas.

This is a significant win for the company, expanding our business in the United States,” said John Morrison, Managing Director of John Crane Asset Management Solutions. “Our staff will be working closely with the plant’s personnel to build up knowledge and processes before moving on, thereby leaving a legacy where the plant can leverage best practice and continue to deliver business value.”

John Crane Asset Management Services for Maintenance Excellence and Reliability

John Crane is developing a reliability-based maintenance strategy for cost effective equipment operation and increased performance, based on the plant’s requirements.

The scope of work will see John Crane inspect the vibration and lubrication of equipment, assess conditions and data and make recommendations. The work also includes generating alerts to allow for planning and scheduling repair work, providing recommendations for maintenance or repair of equipment and increasing frequency inspections.

Through the implementation and active management of key asset monitoring, equipment performance measuring and advanced machinery diagnostics, the team’s insights will enable better asset utilisation and availability, freeing up the refinery’s staff to focus on the tasks critical for maintaining optimal operations.

Additionally, John Crane will help train the refinery’s people to ensure they have in-depth and practical knowledge in leadership, data collection, project liaison, maintenance strategies and performance trending.

In August, John Crane Asset Management Solutions announced it had secured a contract to supply Maersk Oil with data services to support the planned maintenance strategy at one of the largest new developments in the UK North Sea. The company was also awarded a five-year contract to provide condition based maintenance services with a major oil and gas operator in the UK North Sea.

John Crane Asset Management Solutions is a trading name of XPD8 Solutions Limited, which is part of John Crane, itself a division of the global technology company Smiths Group Plc.
