Industry Person of the Week – Ricky Ng

Today’s Industry Person of the Week is Ricky Ng, Manufacturing Engineer at ABB Motors and Mechanical Inc.

Q: How did you get started working in your field?

Ricky: My first internship was in an aluminum rolling plant. During that period, I developed an interest in manufacturing and wanted to learn more about different aspects of manufacturing.

Q: What do you love the most about your job? What are you most proud of?

Ricky: The most I love about my job is I get to work on different kinds of projects. This role allows me to help others.

Q: What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work or new to the field?

Ricky: Be a team player and a good listener. This line of work requires you to work with cross-functional teams and use your critical thinking skill.

Q: Can you talk about a project you recently worked on?

Ricky: I am currently working on a project that requires strong communication between our team and the contractor and good planning with the cross-functional teams to ensure the project goes smoothly. Because of this project, I learned the process of turning an idea into reality.
