Today’s Industry Person of the Week is Renata Campos, Watson Marlow Fluid Technology Group, Spirax Sarco in Brazil. Here is what she had to share!
How did you get started working in your field?
Renata: I joined Spirax Sarco in Brazil just before finishing the university as a trainee, at the time there were not many women in the area but I enjoyed being able to help customers solve their problems.
What do you love the most about your job? What are you most proud of?
Renata: I manage the Latin America region where we have direct operations in 5 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico) and I have the chance to work with different cultures inside my region and help them to solve problems. I am most proud that I am helping to build a strong team in the region, and that despite of cultural differences we will across the region provide the same level of excellence in service.
What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work or new to the field?
Renata: My recommendation for someone in this line of work or new to the field is to genuinely care about your customers, always have their best interest in mind. Work with them to find innovative and sustainable solutions.
Can you talk about a project you recently worked on?
Renata: My most recent project was setting up our new Colombia office, located in Cali. We started our direct operations in June. The project was: hire good people, provide training, build initial inventory and prepare to deliver good solutions to our customers in Colombia.
