Our Industry Person of the Week is Amanda Auger, Marketing Specialist at Industrial Flow Solutions.
Q: How did you get started working in your field?
Amanda: I started working at BJM right out of high school. I was going to college and working there full time in customer service. My mom worked there for 17 years in Customer Service. I grew up coming in on school vacations and helping with little projects. It was only a matter of time before I ended up working in the pump world!
Q: What do you love the most about your job? What are you most proud of?
Amanda: I love collaborating with every department in the office. We get to come together and create content and marketing campaigns. I am so proud of all of the good changes that have occurred since we became “Industrial Flow Solutions,” we are no longer the small company. I am proud to have been a part of all of the change.
Q: What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work or new to the field?
Amanda: If you are a woman, join Empowering Women in the Industry! It is such a tight-knit group of women. It is hard working in a male-populated industry, but this group of women really know how to build each other up. It is such a great support system and knowledge base. I feel like I learn so much about the industry, and myself in every meeting, discussion, event, or post.
